Vigilantism is the soul of this piece, it is the driving force behind my inspiration. When we look at her, we must ask questions about her destiny: What would drive her to such circumstances? What pain had to be delivered in order to push her beyond the threshold of so many moral ideologies? What kinds of individuals are the ones who perpetrate the crimes against her, thrusting her into a hellish world of moral dogmas?
Is it justice? Is it revenge? Is it murder?
Does the vigilante create the criminal, or does the criminal create the vigilante?
All of these questions and their variety of answers is what inspires the creation within me. The work is portrayed in black and white, with varying shades of gray representative of the world in which the vigilante exists, and the morality of her plight.
Yet like all moral dilemmas, vigilantism has its darker shadow, for those that are killed in the name of justice, those that care for the ones slain by the vigilante, will wish for revenge as well.
Thus the never ending waltz of Murder, Justice, and Revenge is the musical tune that will forever play within the vigilante’s mind, and within my own& #8230;
