Nerf Gun Prop - Nerf Proton Right Side by MirrorMask Nerf Gun Prop - Nerf Proton Right Side by MirrorMask
:altermind: Prop that I created for a future short film project that I am working on.

This is a Nerf Proton - a disc shooting pistol that I painted. In the upper right hand corner I have a picture of the original way it looked before I altered it.

This is wonderful! How did you paint the handle?

:altermind: First I spray painted the entire gun with flat black spray paint. I find that the brand sold by walmart does the best for priming. I then paint two coats of the darkest brown that I could find on the entire handle. I then dry brushed layers of orange over the grip multiple times until I got the look that I wanted. I then painted the accent pieces a nice bright steel to make it pop.

In case if you didn't know, dry brushing is when you take a dry brush, place a faint amount of paint on the bristles, and then slowly paint the area. It takes a multiple coats to pull off that look, about an hour or so of dry brushing.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Thanks!

I'm very familiar with dry brushing. I've been going at some pieces for the past week or so with it x_X.

Thanks though! I never imagined using orange would create such a nice leather look.
